Leo got 6 to 7 inches, and Spot got about half that. I was heart broken when Leo and Spot passed away after 5 years. I searched everywhere to replace them and finally found them here. Wow, these guys are very aggressive so be warned. No fault of Somethings Physhy. I love them but it took a bit of manuevering with my tanks (17 of them) to find a good match. My ciclids are not showing any red color yet (about 6 months later) but I have 3 mated pairs that have had multiple offspring! I love them. They are very good parents and I have a platinum parrot that has made it her life's goal to take care of the little ones. Not kidding, she puts them in her mouth while the parents eat. not sure why these guys have a bad rep but my experience was great i ordered the 10 pack of discus they all were alive and well most of them were above the 2 inch mark only 2 were small but healthy none the less. i appreciate that they let me know when my order was being prepared as well as when it will arrive tahnk you guys i will be doing business with you again soon ...
